to Help Foster Kids Attend Build-A-Bear Workshop!
The Oregon Department of Human Services, Child Welfare Branch received a generous donation from The Point Man Ministries to help send 20 children to the Build-A-Bear Workshop in Eugene last week. DHS, Child Welfare Services, provides a special service to children going through the process of Adoption. Legal Assistance Workers, Adoption Workers and some volunteers provide Adoption Preparation Classes to help children understand why they are in foster care, why they can't return home and what the permanent plan is for them. Doing this is a group helps the children understand that they are not alone and that others are going through the same thing.
This trip involved taking the
children to Eugene to Build-An-Adoption-Bear. We believe
this bear will help the children understand adoption and will be part of a
transition for them from foster care to adoption. Point Man
Ministries made this trip and event possible! What a fine group of
